"Age as Perceived by Those Younger" presented by Dr. E. Bruce Heilman, former President and now Chancellor, University of Richmond
2:00 pm, Community Center
“My subject, ‘Age as Perceived by Those Younger’, has been selected for no particular reason other than the fact that I am in my 82nd year, and that I have come to the realization that the definition of old age has been the prerogative of those who have not yet experienced that condition. So while I will seek to identify the general perceptions of age by those younger, and based upon historic assumption, I will also seek to correct some prevailing misconceptions.” Dr. Heilman will go on to share many amusing anecdotes - some funny true stories, some comical yarns. Also, he will comment on most of his life as it has been devoted to higher education, mostly as a college and university president. Don’t miss this wonderful afternoon program! - August 11 | Monday

"Family Blessings" presented by pianist Logan Turner
3:30 pm, Community Center
Everyone is invited to share in what has become a bit of a family tradition whenever the Turner family visits from their home in Georgetown, Texas. The program will feature a wide variety of music including pieces by Debussy, Granada and a beautiful patriotic arrangement by Mark Hayes. Logan is now 15 years old and has continued to study and teach piano as he completed his freshman year in High School. One of his newest students this summer has been his 9 year old younger brother Collin, and they hope to share a few duets. As a four year member of the American College of Musicians, Logan scored highest honors in the spring piano guild auditions. Please consider joining us as we share in the family blessings of a musical heritage. - August 18 | Monday
"The Goldsmith Artist" presented by jeweler, Susannah Wagner

Susannah will share how Goldsmiths treat jewelry as art; how you can take family treasures and inherited jewels and combine them in new ways to make them more versatile and interesting. - August 23 | Saturday
"Random Act" musical group Jennifer and Tom Elcano
3:00 pm, Community Center
Random Act is a 6 to 8-piece acoustic group offering a lavish array of instruments and voices that turn ordinary songs into works of art. The group’s claim to fame is that all eight members can sing and most play multiple instruments. The array of instruments includes lead and rhythm guitars, mandolin, stand-up bass, banjo, viola, harmonica, accordion, and percussion. The result is music in the finest old and new traditions, including folk, country, pop, rock, bluegrass, gospel, and blues. A Random Act song means a unique arrangement featuring the group’s talents for richly textured harmonies and tight instrumentation. - August 25 | Monday
