Covenant Woods Announces 2018 Employee Scholarship Recipients

On March 16th, the Board of Directors of Covenant Woods Continuing Care Retirement Community awarded eight Covenant Woods employees with scholarships totaling $12,000. Board Development Chair, Mike Carter, presented the scholarships at a brunch attended by current and past scholarship recipients, as well as the donors who make the scholarships possible. John Dwyer, President and CEO distributed the awards.

The 2018 scholarship winners include:

  • Nhjosa Brown, a Lead Dietary Aide who has worked at Covenant Woods since 2015 and is currently training to become a licensed Esthetician.
  • Kristina Davis, a Dietary Aide who has worked at Covenant Woods since 2014 and is pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology.
  • Victoria Little, a CNA who has been with Covenant Woods since 2011 and is pursuing a degree in Criminal Justice.
  • Brittany Lewter, a Concierge who has worked at Covenant Woods since 2015 and is currently pursuing a BSN degree.
  • Abigail Myers, a Dietary Aide who has been with Covenant Woods since 2012 and will be pursuing her Graduate degree in teaching.
  • Charlene Randolph, an LPN who is approaching her first anniversary with Covenant Woods and is studying to become a Registered Nurse.
  • Crystal Stephens, the Environmental Services and Transportation Manager, who has worked at Covenant Woods since 2016 and is pursuing a degree in Retail Management.
  • Shaquana Winston, an LPN Charge Nurse who has worked at Covenant Woods since 2010 and is enrolled in the Administrator in Training program.

J. Edwin Givens Employee Scholarship provides funds for full and part time employees to continue their education in the field of their choice regardless of whether it is associated with their role at Covenant Woods. Since the fund was started in 2007, over $60,000 in scholarships have been awarded.
