Gather in the great outdoors.
The Spring is a small pond with two bridges spanning a small creek bed. Home to a family of ducks, The Spring welcomes guests and residents with a fountain, native plants, and trees, and was designed in part by Virginia Tech landscape architecture students, with an eye toward creating a therapeutic landscape that appeals to older adults. The Spring has been designated an official Virginia Treasure by the Commonwealth.
The Pergola offers a shady, on-campus respite with comfortable seating shielded from the sun.
The Grand Lawn, situated just outside The Lodge, is a space where residents enjoy social hours and events. During the winter holidays, The Grand Lawn is beautifully decorated with festive lights and Christmas trees.
