What is Lifecare?

Lifecare at a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) is a type of contract that guarantees residents access to various levels of care as they age, without a significant increase in the cost of care. Lifecare provides a comprehensive package of residence styles, services, and amenities, while offering a continuum of care that includes independent living, assisted living, memory care, and skilled nursing care, all within one community. One of the main benefits of Lifecare at a CCRC, now known as a Life Plan community, is the assurance that if health needs change, one can seamlessly transition to a higher level of care. This type of arrangement provides peace of mind for residents and their families.

What contract options are available?

Covenant Woods provides multiple residency agreement options so you can select the plan that best suits your needs and goals. A Lifecare contract gives you a formalized plan for future health care needs with predictable monthly rates and guarantees you will receive care when you need it. Lifecare residency agreements also offer three different entrance fee options: standard 50-month declining refund, 50% refund, and 90% refund. With our refundable options, a portion of your initial entrance fee is returned to you or your estate when you leave Covenant Woods.

A fee-for-service contract offers lower entrance fees but does not provide pre-payment toward future health care services in Manor East. Should you need health care while living at Covenant Woods, you will pay the full monthly rate in effect at the time you receive care. Fee-for-Service contracts only have one entrance fee option: a standard 50-month declining refund.
