Covenant Woods Welcomes New CEO and President, Thom Wright.
After an extensive, nation-wide search, the Covenant Woods Board of Directors is pleased to announce Thom Wright as the new President and CEO of Covenant Woods. Thom joined the Covenant Woods team on August 2nd following the retirement of John E. Dwyer Jr., who served as President and CEO since 2013.
Thom comes to Covenant Woods after serving as the CEO of a two-campus, not-for-profit senior living community in Massachusetts. Thom has more than 20 years of experience in senior living; he has consulted for, helped develop, operate, rebrand, and stabilize freestanding and multi-site independent living, memory care, skilled and sub-acute nursing accommodations.
David Fuller, Chair of the Search Committee said the following, “After a rigorous national search, the Board found an ideal candidate who will ardently lead and enhance our strategic direction, engage our residents and staff, and advance our community presence.”
Outside of work, Thom and his family love traveling internationally and serving others locally through their church ministry. Thom’s favorite topics of discussion are history, art, and ancient cultures, which he discovered while working towards his undergraduate degree in classical civilization at Boston University. Thom also has a Ph.D. in organization management and an MBA in health care administration.
“I am humbled and excited for the opportunity to serve an impressive organization such as Covenant Woods. Together we will foster community and fellowship as we daily serve our mission, support one another, and ensure that we remain a strong leader in the senior living space at the local, state, and national level,” said Wright.
Be sure to say hello to Thom and welcome him to the Covenant Woods team!
